Job description

Key Responsibilities 
 
  • Lead high-impact business analysis to convert data into actionable insights, including descriptive, diagnostic and predictive analysis.
  • Deliver executive-level insight packs and performance commentary highlighting key drivers, risks, opportunities and recommended actions.
  • Identify trends, anomalies and improvement opportunities, quantify business impact, and guide stakeholders on follow-through actions.
  • Translate business needs into clear reporting requirements (URS, KPA definitions, specifications) and support BICC teams in delivering solutions.
  • Validate dashboards and reports for accuracy, usability, drill-down logic, and alignment to agreed definitions before release (QA and sign-off readiness).
  • Monitor business performance through KPAs, variances, and exception reporting, recommending enhancements where required.
  • Support self-service reporting adoption by coaching stakeholders and improving report usability and understanding.
  • Ensure data credibility through reconciliation to source systems, strong documentation, and governance of definitions and assumptions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align KPAs, improve data literacy, and ensure consistent reporting across departments.
  • Promote compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g., POPIA, confidentiality standards).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the BICC Manager.

 

 

 

Minimum requirements

  • MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) Database Development and MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) BI Reporting in database management and analytics
  • or bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, business administration or a related field
  • proven experience with a minimum of 5 years in a Business Intelligence Analyst or related position.
  • Experience with programming for data analysis (Qlik, Excel, SQL, Alteryx)
  • Proven track record delivering insights into leadership decision-making.
  • Strong experience with KPA governance and performance reporting.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • Experience documenting business requirements for BI solutions.
