Introduction
Tracker requires the services of a National Installations Technical Manager based at the Head Office in Johannesburg. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the national end‑to‑end delivery of all installation‑related projects, ensuring they are effectively initiated, planned, executed, monitored, and closed in alignment with business objectives, customer requirements, and operational capacity. The role serves as the central link between customer rollout needs and internal technical and operational execution, coordinating stakeholders across Sales, Business Systems, Technical, Installation Services, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Experience. Through structured project governance, system enablement, process optimisation, and data‑driven decision‑making, the incumbent will drive scalable rollout capability, operational efficiency, and predictable delivery models while enhancing customer experience and supporting Tracker’s long‑term growth and resilience.
Job description

Key Responsibility
 
System Enablement & Process Optimisation
  • Ensure all projects are seamlessly integrated into existing installation workflows and operational processes.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to installation processes, tools, systems, and resource utilisation.
  • Align project execution with FSM, PSO, FSM Mobile, and related business systems to ensure operational readiness.
  • Drive national standardisation of rollout methodologies, documentation, and system usage.
  • Lead the optimisation, integration, and enhancement of FSM‑related platforms.
  • Oversee system integrations to ensure alignment with operational workflows and business requirements.
  • Manage system access, permissions, and security controls in accordance with governance standards.
  • Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Monitor system performance and implement optimisation strategies to ensure stability, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all operational platforms and reporting tools.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives, including automation of workflows and process improvement.
Installations Project Management
  • Lead the full project lifecycle for all installation‑related initiatives, from initiation to close‑out.
  • Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and success criteria.
  • Develop, manage, and track detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project delivery against milestones, budgets, and operational capacity.Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks with appropriate escalation and governance structures.
  • Drive structured project governance, including reporting, steering forums, and PMO compliance.
  • Ensure smooth handover of delivered solutions into business‑as‑usual operations.Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment across Sales, Customers, Operations, and Technical teams.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including stand‑ups, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews where applicable.
  • Partner with L&D on training materials and deployment readiness.
  • Manage system testing scenarios, regression testing, and production deployments.
  • Ensure full system continuity and support for FSM, PSO, FSM Mobile, and other critical platforms.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the central coordination point between customers and internal delivery teams.
  • Translate customer rollout requirements into executable operational and technical plans.
  • Manage rollout schedules aligned to customer readiness and operational capacity.
  • Ensure proactive customer communication, expectation management, and milestone visibility.
  • Oversee project closure activities, including acceptance sign‑off, documentation, and billing alignment.
  • Lead and develop high‑performing, cross‑functional teams.
  • Drive collaboration across internal departments and external partners.
  • Lead change‑management initiatives to ensure adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and performance‑driven working environment aligned with Tracker values.
Financial Management
  • Manage project budgets, cost controls, and resource utilisation.
  • Ensure accurate financial tracking, cost recovery, and alignment of invoicing with deliverables.
  • Support commercial forecasting, ROI assessments, and profitability analysis.Implement cost‑reduction and efficiency initiatives.
  • Manage vendor contracts, licences, and service‑level agreements.
  • Drive accountability for financial integrity, wastage, theft, and non‑compliance.
Governance & Compliance
  • Maintain comprehensive audit trails and documentation for all systems and project changes.
  • Ensure compliance with IT governance frameworks, POPIA, and applicable ISO standards.
  • Facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes and deployment approvals.
  • Implement structured change‑management, risk‑assessment, and rollback procedures.
  • Conduct internal governance reviews and support audit activities.
  • Report governance and compliance metrics to executive leadership.
 

Minimum requirements

  • Essential: Matric (NQF 4)
  • Essential: National Diploma in Engineering, Technical, IT, Project Management, or related field (NQF 5)
  • Essential: Project Management certification (PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or similar)
  • Essential: PSIRA registration – Minimum Grade A
  • Desirable: Degree in a relevant Technical or Business discipline (NQF 6)
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience in a technical or operational environment
  • Minimum 3 years managerial or supervisory experience
  • Proven experience managing large‑scale rollouts or multi‑site implementations
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams
  • Experience within field service, installations, or technical delivery environments
  • Proven track record in new system rollouts and operational optimisation
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex business and operational challenges
  • Computer Literate (MS Office and Outlook)
  • Valid South African Driver’s licence
