Job description

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
·       Detailed understanding of IFRS and IAS standards, including but not limited to: IFRS 15, 16, 9.
·       Performing detailed research on technical accounting matters and providing a detailed writeup thereof.
·       Treasury and Cash management.
·       Management of Forex Transactions and accounting thereof.
·       Full function General Ledger integrity management including journals.
·       Management of month end close, interfaces and other tasks.
·       General Ledger reconciliations, including Bank reconciliations.
·       Petty cash and Credit Card management (Head Office and Regions).
·       Management of Fixed Asset Register in compliance with IFRS and Income Tax Act.
·       Management of FACS cashbook and Hyphen relationship.
·       Full management of communication files between FACS cashbook and Willow.
·       Assisting with the annual and 3-year forecast.
·       Preparing and reviewing annual financial statements.
·       Assisting with audit requests.
·       Managing the tax packs and the full taxation function.
·       Reporting on Income Statement reviews, critical analyses with explanations of variances.
·       Assisting the General Ledger manager with various ad hoc projects.
·       Responsible for maintaining availability, security, and data integrity of applications.

Minimum requirements

·       Relevant Honours degree, with specialization in accounting and taxation.
·       SAICA Articles or similar required.
·       Minimum of 3 years’ post Articles experience.
·       Compliance with company policies and procedures.
·       Ability to implement new or make amendments to policies and procedures.
·       In-depth knowledge of financial principles and processes (IFRS, Tax Regulations and other applicable legislation).
·       Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
·       Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
·       Impeccable interpersonal, leadership and people skills
·       Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel – not negotiable and will be tested.
·       Ability to work under pressure.
·       Ability to identify problems and correct them.
·       Sense of responsibility.
·       Precision, accuracy, and attention to detail.
·       Deadline driven.
·       Self-starter and quick learner.
