Job description
- Technical leadership in delivery of products and solutions, within and across team
- Effective management of all staff in the team.
- Continuously align delivery to the Tracker and team strategy and planning.
- Provide input into the annual salary review process as and when required.
- Deliver strategic projects on time, in budget, with the desired functionality, at the defined quality level in a sustainable way.
- Assist in definition and design architecture/technical implementation related to area of responsibility, while collaborating with other managers, leads and architects.
- Meet best practice criteria in the evaluation and testing of software.
- Assure that team members adhere to and follow these practices.
- Complete work orders in appropriate timescales.
- Maintain and systems without introducing new defects.
- Enhance systems to support and move to new technologies.
- Share knowledge with development and support teams.
- Document systems, including enhancements to facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Mentor and coach Junior Developers.
- Ensure that the best practice development processes and standards are followed.
- Effective use of development toolset.
- Follow department development standards
Minimum requirements
- Relevant Degree or Diploma (e.g. Computer Science) or Relevant Work Experience required
- Training on related areas and skills would be advantageous
- Degree / Diploma with 6 years of relevant work experience or 8 years of relevant work experience as a team Lead
- Experience in SCRUM AGILE methodology.
- Strong understanding of Android/IOS design principles, patterns and best practices, user experience and mobile app development
- Experience in native IOS and Android development required:IOS: Strong proficiency in IOS and Objective C and Native Swift Programming, including SwiftUI ,Android: Java, strong proficiency in Kotlin, experience with Jetpack compose
- Understanding of the various Android and IOS SDK’s, OS versions, and how to deal with various mobile aspects such as screen sizes
- Experience with RESTful API’s and JSON data required
- Strong Debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Azure DevOps (GIT) and Gitflow advantageous.
- Android or IOS Certification is advantageous (Google Associate Android Developer Certification, Kodeco)
- Exposure to good coding standard practices and source code configuration management.
- Experience in SOLID, KISS, MVVM and Clean Code practices required.
