Key Responsibilities:
Technical Accounting & Compliance
- In-depth understanding and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
 - and International Accounting Standards (IAS), with specific focus on IFRS 15 (Revenue from
 - Contracts with Customers) and IFRS 16 (Leases).
 - Perform detailed technical research on complex accounting matters and produce
 - comprehensive technical memoranda, position papers, or policy documents.
 - Provide guidance on accounting treatment and disclosures in line with updated IFRS/IAS
 - interpretations.
 
Treasury & Forex Management
- Oversee and manage daily treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, banking
 - relationships, and optimal cash utilization across the group.
 - Management of Forex Transactions and accounting thereof
 - Management and Oversight on Credit Card spend including variance analysis
 
General Ledger & Financial Control
- Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, including preparation and review of complex
 - journal entries and ensuring accuracy of financial data.
 - Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, complete, and
 - accurate financial reporting.
 
Reconciliations
- Perform and review General Ledger reconciliations, including but not limited to bank
 - reconciliations.
 - Oversee the management and reconciliation of petty cash and credit cards.
 
Fixed Assets Management
- Ensure accurate maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, with compliance to IFRS and the
 - Income Tax Act.
 - Oversee asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and impairment reviews, ensuring
 - alignment with statutory and internal policies.
 
Cashbook Oversight
- Responsible for managing the FACS cashbook system and maintaining the working relationship with Hyphen, ensuring efficient and compliant cashbook processes.
 
Budgeting
- Support the finance team in the preparation of the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning (3-year financial outlook).
 - Provide input and analytical support for scenario planning and strategic decision-making.
 
Financial Reporting & Audits
- Assist in the preparation and review of Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in compliance with IFRS and company policies.
 - Coordinate and respond to audit requests
 
Taxation Management
- Assist in the preparation of tax packs, ensuring accurate and timely tax submissions.
 - Manage the full corporate taxation function, including provisional tax calculations, deferred tax, VAT, and other statutory compliance.
 
Financial Analysis & Variance Reporting
- Conduct monthly Income Statement reviews.
 - Provide insightful commentary and analysis to management
 
Minimum requirements
- Bcom Accounting Honours or
 - SAICA articles
 
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a 
senior accounting or supervisory role. 
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS,
 - Financial reporting,
 - Taxation and
 - Treasury functions.
 
- High attention to detail
 - Strong analytical thinking
 - Excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
