Introduction

Tracker requires the Services of an Operator: National Emergency Control Centre that is based at our Head Office in Johannesburg. This position requires a candidate who is committed to delivering extra ordinary customer service as well as conscious about our customers and their vehicle safety. The ideal person should be able to work shifts of 12 hours, be committed and dedicated and work in a disciplined environment

Job description

  • Activate Tracker units:
  • Receive emergency calls and ensure the response and recovery process flows smoothly and in accordance with all approved SOP’s
  • Display the ability to obtain all the required critical information from highly stressed and/or traumatised customers
  • Liaise with Tracker recover personnel, recovery partners and the SA Police Service
  • Accurately capture all progress on and or activities relating to response and recovery
  • Continuously update the response and recovery personnel
  • Direct recovery personnel to the locations of activated vehicles
  • Navigate and utilise multiple systems during the activation, tracking and recovery of customer’s vehicles.
  • Compile reports on stolen and/or recovered vehicles
  • Ensure Customer Service Standards are maintained and queries are resolved in a professional manner aligned to Tracker’s principles and values
  • Adhere to internal and external SOP’s, SLA’s and MOU’s
  • Provide inbound and outbound service to both existing and prospective customers
  • Report deviations to the shift supervisor and/or manager
  • Work in a highly pressurised and stressful environment
  • Have a thorough and clear understanding of the nature of the Department
  • Contribute towards enhancements within the Department
  • Ensure an above average customer experience


Minimum requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • 2 -3 years’ experience in the vehicle tracking and security industry
  • Emergency Control Centre or Customer Service experience in a Call Centre or similar working environment
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be able to work shifts as per the approved shift roster, including weekends and public holidays
  • Perform planned and unplanned standby duties as and when required
  • Must have reliable transport for shift work.

Professional Associations (Advantageous)

  • PSIRA registration (Level C to A) or the ability to obtain such within a reasonable time
  • Vehicle crime/SAPS and/or Emergency Service experience
