Introduction

Reporting to the Global Sales Executive, the successful candidate will assume responsibility for compiling, managing and executing the strategy for the Insurance Business channel and to expand its scope of business and services through the development, deployment and management of products including but not limited to the development and implementation of data driven vehicle telematics-based models.

Job description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engagement with Insurance industry having a good understanding of data, underwriting models, value of insights and telematics
  • Define and execute the Sales strategy.
  • The development of sustainable long-term relationships with key partners nationally.
  • Delivery of new partners to the business.
  • Building capability for the generation of sales and an increase in volumes from the Insurance channel (in terms of strategy, tactics, team deployment, management of resources etc.).
  • Input into the national sales budget and the management of the achievement of targets nationally.
  • Implementation of appropriate internal systems to manage relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Building and maintaining a comprehensive data base of Partners to allow for the hunting and farming of business across sectors.
  • Leadership and contribution of development of staff on a national basis.
  • The ability to analyze the current and future needs of the Insurance Market and to formulate sales strategies and product development accordingly.
  • The ability to influence the team and those not under his/her own direct reporting structure regarding the benefits of proposed changes.
  • The ability to motivate salespeople, drive productivity and deliver on sales targets.



Minimum requirements

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or Actuarial Sciences fields.
  • Desirable: Completion of undergraduate Actuarial studies (BSc / BBusSc / BEconSc) and part-qualification as a professional Actuary through the Actuarial Society of South Africa would be advantageous. 
  • Must have five years’ experience in the management of large and diverse sales team, including the provision of leadership to regional sales managers and their teams.
  • Verifiable experience in achieving business growth in terms of sales and long-term profitability.
  • Experience in vehicle tracking or similar technology will be a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strategic, intellectual and analytical abilities.
  • Consultative style with influencing ability.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence with strong leadership skills
